The North Central Kentucky region offers a wide variety of outdoor recreation, including festivals and events in thriving arts communities. Whether your idea of fun is a bluegrass jam session, historical sightseeing, fishing at the lake or boating on the river, you'll never run out of things to do in or around the North Central Kentucky Region.

And what about the weather?  The North Central Kentucky region's climate provides a wide range of temperature and foliage changes throughout the year.

 

Williamstown Lake

This region truly showcases the beautiful changes of season. With gorgeous fall colors, new wild life in the spring, lots to do in the summer, and mild snowy winters, this climate offers something for everyone.

 

For seven months of the year, the average temperature hovers between 55 degrees and 90 degrees, leaving numerous ways to enjoy the out-of-doors.  Play golf, go fishing, boating, hiking, canoeing, you name it! In the winter months, you are close enough to enjoy skiing at Perfect North Slopes. 

 

  

Healthcare and Education

 

The nationally recognized hospitals of Louisville, Cincinnati and Lexington are all within an hour of North Central KY. Carroll County Memorial Hospital is a vibrant, growing area health care center, employing over 250 people and serving thousands annually through out & in-patient, emergency and physician services. Our area hospitals work with community leaders to actively plan for the next decade of health service needs, while looking at what the "next" hospital will look like as we progress into the twenty-first century.

NKU's Grant County Center 

Seeking higher education?  The region's proximity to the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky, Louisville, and Lexington metro areas affords residents many opportunities to pursue postsecondary education.  North Central KY is home to Northern Kentucky University Grant County Center, as well as to Jefferson Community and Technical College.  The region has easy access to major public institutions, such as University of Kentucky (UK), University of Louisville (UofL), and Northern Kentucky University (NKU).
